Southern end of tug hill had quite a bit of snow on friday. C-Ville had snow but it was rough.

Was in Pulaski region Sunday (03/14). Not a ton of snow, but enough to ride. Some areas had 3 feet, and some were bare.

Don't know if last night's storm affected that area. We got a foot and a half of great powder in a few hours (Fingerlakes region). I was out for a few hours around my home. Put 20+ miles on it just running through fields. It was snowing so hard that I couldn't see more than 20 feet in front of me most of the time, and with the powder flying over the cowling, it was even harder to see (and drive fast). Still, it was great riding! Ran some streets, as the plows weren't out. Even had the opportunity to push a Pizza delivery kid's pick-up out of a ditch he had slid into. He was hating the snow... I was loving it!

Oops... almost forgot.

www.absolutesnowmobile.com (don't forget to "refresh" the page) has about the best and most current Tug Hill conditions on the web. They are very current, and very honest. It's not written by a bunch of tavern owners trying to get your business... it's written by a club and it's riders.

Arghhhh

I really wanted to get up there this past weekend. Instead of replacing skegs, loading up, and going - I found that the BOZO who had the sled before me had actually worn through the saddle mounts on both skis! They fell in half when I took the skis off! I spent my Saturday welding and getting them all fixed up. I had to rebuild the bottoms of both mounts completely! Besides that, the plastic ski bottoms were shot. I fiberglassed for now, and will have to either get skins or replace the skis. That blew Saturday, and Sunday looked bad up there - so I never went.

I'm in Ontario county - in Farmington, between Palmyra and Canandaigua. Are you east or west Wayne. West Wayne is a stone's throw away from my house.

Yeah, This was a real learning lesson for me, as well as my 15 year-old son. The guy I bought them from was a real good liar... he said they were garage kept and "well maintained". I've since seen 94's in better condition than these two 2000's. I think I still got a good deal (two sleds plus trailer for under $4200) but I wish the guy had been honest from the start.

We've been through an engine repair (no spark - ended up being the flywheel), broken wiring, track replcement, the ski problem, clutch rebuild, and a whole lot more. We know these sleds inside and out now.

Anyway, I know where Clyde is... not that far from Palmyra, actually. I'm about 3 miles south of the canal, off route 31. You've got to be pretty close to the Mexico trail system... which (I think) will get you up to the Pulaski area, and the whole Adirondack region. I don't have my map here...

Maybe when the snow flies again, we can do some riding together.

Not *yet* I have a friend who lives just off of 104 in Ontario (Wayne County).

I bought my sleds so late in the season that I never got a chance to get to his house. I've scoped out several trails that head North/South along telephone lines. Those will get me about 60-80% of the way. I just need to find a few connecting trails closer to home, and figure out where to cross the canal. Once the snow starts next season, I'll be working on a route to his house. When I get that route figured out, it's wide open along 104 all the way to who-knows-where? I know the 104 trails run pretty far... There are some groomed trails through that area as well, which I used to ride as a kid. They were south a little bit, along the phone lines near what's now (old 104) 404.

That would be good! Now, if we can only get through summer, and back to some snow. The wind blew the cover off my pool yesterday... so I "opened" it. Maybe that means we'll have an early summer.

Hey, liners cost a few hundred... Think of all the sled stuff you could get for that money! Good thing my son takes care of the pool, otherwise it would look like pea soup all summer...
