Thought Id start a thread for the new season, all the others seem to be outdated (from last season).

Location: Otego NY- Otsego/Delaware County.

Trails near me are starting to take shape as of Dec. 15. Any where from 7-12+" of the white stuff. Trails dont officially open here till the 19th. Temps may warm a bit for a day or two later this week, but the trails here should hold...hopefully. The father north the better, with Herkimer county (just north of Otsego) getting more snow than here. Ill try to keep you all updated, myself and a buddy plan on going out Wednesday night so I'll update then.

Hi I live north of the border and my cousin live in Harrisburg PA.
We are looking to meet half way and do some riding, but don't know what we need to ride the trails in NY state? Does anyone know?

Definitly need NY registraion. $100 for that. I believe Old Forge, you need an additional trail permit.$40-$45 or something. I'll be takin a trip to Tug Hill in a month or so.

You must be insured and registered

regi is $100.00 only $45.00 if you belong to a club , But I think you can get a temp for much cheaper because your out of state / Country riders. Check out the NY State DMV web site or call them

Hey what happened to this thread??? Well so far this year the NY winter has sucked donkey nuts at least along the north shore of Onieda Lake. I finally took my first ride of the year on the lake on Feb, 15th thats pretty bad. Usually the lake is frozen by begining of Jan. must be that dang global warming. Al Gore would you please turn down the heat.

Just rode over 300 miles in Old Forge over presidents day. Trails were awesome and there was a ton of snow. Even with the little rain they got the trails were awesome!!!

And we had a 80 trail cat and a 85 Srv riding with us!

Conditions are still poor around the Onieda lake area. Not enough snow on the trails to cover the rocks. I put a few miles on the lake Saturday but mostly just to watch the races we had there. I'll post pics and vids of the race soon.
