Question Riding in New Hampshire

Hey all -

I know there are some big-time riders in here from NH, so I thought maybe you could help me out with something I started thinking about.

I am trying to arrange a trip up to New Hampshire for New Years weekend, specifically the New London/Mt. Sunapee area. The stated purpose was to go skiing, but I figured I might be able to schlep a sled or two up there as well and maybe spend a day riding too (we never get all 3 days of skiing in because we get tired of getting up early...)

So, the question is... what sort of rules are there about riding in NH? Do I need insurance, title/registration, helmet, etc.? Also, does anyone know a decent public-access place to ride around there ?

Well since NH is the LIVE FREE OR DIE state no insurance or helmet is required. Although I wouldn't ride without a helmet. The sled needs to be registered in the state. But I see your from NJ you may want to consider renting one or taking a snowmobile tour. Guides know all the good places to go and you'll have a blast (helmets may be required when renting). hope this helps a bit

i agree with headbanger you might find it more enjoyable to rent some sleds and take a guided tour. there is a place near loon mountain in lincohn, nh that rents sleds and will provide a guide to show you some hot spots.

the state law is 45mph. 55mph might be the limit on the pond itself....
