New York Snow - hit or miss

We put in about 4 hours Saturday, the wife went with our friends today for another 3 or so. It is just amazing, we ride just south of the Thruway in CNY and the trails, for as warm as it has been, were actually pretty good. Very few bare spots, most all the water was frozen. Yet, I drive the Thruway to work heading West towards Syracuse and in the Utica/Rome area the grass is about ready to start growing. When I tell people we rode this weekend they won't believe me but there were many, many sleds on the trails to our South all weekend. I hear you have to drive about an hour North of the Thruway to find anything worth riding on. For some reason, as long as I can remember, we have always had more snow in our area, sure am glad now!

We're an hour north of Amsterdam. There's some snow, and it's mostly worth riding. However, they're forcasting rain for Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. But snow for Friday night/Saturday/Sunday. Hopefully we'll get some riding in on this long weekend...
