Yes, that's the area. We rode through Java and Darien State Park. Would have liked to ride to Letchworth, but just didn't have the time.
If we can just have some snow, we'll definitely get together and do some riding. As for a date... right now; I'm free anytime. I'd like to schedule it so I could take my son (would really like to take my wife). The sooner we settle on a date, the better I'll be able to plan. I think mid Jan. is the only time my son has college break time. I'll have to get the exact dates...

Ya that sounds cool with me. I am actually a full time college student also but I'm always up for riding. I'm off from like Christmas till late January so we can hook up and ride. As a matter of fact we could unload right at the park or something. Shoot me a private message if we dont hook back up on here. So where does your son go to school and what is he studying?

Finger Lake Community College right now. He's in the Music Recording and Technology program. Should be graduating next semester, and then might go on to Belmont. Not sure yet... Funny as it may seem, FLCC is recognized all over the country as having one of the best A.S. Music Recording programs anywhere. They have had all kinds of people come to use the studio. I've been in it a few times - it's pretty cool. They spent over 4 mil. building it.

That's cool. I go full time to Monroe CC and part time to RIT. WAY CHEAPER THAT WAY. Eventually I'll have to go to RIT full time and then bend over with college tuiton. So basically i better enjoy the sled i have now cuz i wont be spending much on toys once rit starts sending me bills. Well if i ever do grow up, hopefully I'll become a packaging engineer. Untill then throttle on

Sounds great! They've been coming out with some pretty neat packaging stuff lately. Should be a fun career!
I did some MCC and RIT, but Xerox picked up the tab.

Yeah... I'm trying NOT to find a job before we're at least part way through the riding season. It would suck to get a job, and not be able to take any time off for riding (assuming this season will be better than last).

I think north of Syracuse pretty much defines upstate, and west of Syracuse is pretty much western NY. At least, that's how I have always looked at it. There may be a "text book" definition that exists somewhere...

11 posts... I should say "Welcome"!
Where are you in Rochester? I'm on the east side, near Macedon/Palmyra/Farmington. That last snow dropped a good 8+ inches here. Had to plow the drive twice! It's all gone now...

I always thought that it was refered to as upstate becuase most out of staters think of New Youk City when you say you're from New York. That would make everyone above long island and NYC from upstate New York.
