Bogging issue

Hi everyone, need your help with a bogging issue.

I pulled my 2000 Xc Sp 700 out of storage a few weeks ago and after replacing the plugs, etc, we took it out for a rip. It ran great for about 2 hours and then started to bog under throttle and was backfiring when hitting around 5000rpm. Once you pass 5000 rpm she would have lots of power and no backfiring. When I got back to my truck with it, I shut it off and started back up. It idled at 2500 rpm and when I played with the choke lever and it dropped the rpms to 500. Upon getting home, I pulled the carbs to clean them, switch the plugs for NGK's instead of Champions, put brand new NGK wires, took the choke cables off to clean them and make sure the plungers we're working properly and did a compression test to ensure proper compression in each cylinder (127psi). I also did an ohms test for the stator and it seems to be throwing out the proper ratings.

I just started it now and it was idling at 2500 again. I play with the choke lever and it drops the rpm to 500. When I took it out for a ride, it was sluggish again and it's smoking more than it normally does and the smoke burns your eyes. It wasn't backfiring this time though. It's not white smoke so I know it's not burning prestone or the head gasket is not blown. I'm doubting that it's the choke cables because I adjusted them properly and the sled ran perfect last year before putting it away.

Any ideas? Is it the choke cables/plungers? Is it stator related (high speed coil)?
