Can I damage my motor if I run it even though the compression leeks out when checking it? The motor has good compression, but it will leak out of the gage once I stop pulling it over. The gage is good because on my other sled it holds. I just don't want to run the sled and damage it this late in the season. Thanks
What do you think? Put it away for the season and take the heads off to see if I put the head gaskets on wrong, think they only go on one way but should probably double check.
The cylinders cannot hold compression. It takes air in from the intake and expels what it takes in through the exhaust every stroke. Your gauge either holds it or it dont but the final number on the gauge is what the compression is. Run it
Thank You, I talked w/ and engine builder, actually the guy who bored the cylinders and he said the same. Once you stop pulling on the sled that the cylinder won't hold the compression. Thanks again, I am going to ride the hell out of it.
