Howdy Guys!

I'm Amanda from northern Wisconsin. I have no sled at the moment. I had a '91 Phazer II 500. Sold it about 2 years ago. I've been riding my aunt and uncle's spare sleds for the last couple winters but want my own. Well I got a new job this year and a sled is back in the budget! I'm looking at getting either a 2013 or 2014 Ski-doo in the fall but right now i'm just researching. I'll also be getting all new gear. The plan is to drop a bunch of coin this year and hold on to the stuff for a while. Well, that's the plan anyways. So any info on the best gear right now would be greatly appreciated!

My "riding style" would be mostly trails around home, but with the crappy snow the last couple years I'll most likely be venturing to the UP and hopefully out west.

No one ever complains about how their Klim gear holds up. It's spendy to start with, but lasts and lasts and lasts. I can't comment on how the fit is, but they do offer women's sizes.

Thanks for the input and welcomes! I was looking at FXR gear also. Any comments on their stuff?

After re-reading my first post, I realize I sound like a "tool" if you will. I am active on a couple different forums for other things, and there are always people saying "I'm going to buy a brand new one!" and never do and just end up wasting forum space. Let me assure you, I've been on sleds since I was knee-high to a grass hopper and these last 2 years without one have driven me nuts!! I want to get a good set up and then hopefully have it for quite a few years.

Welcome to the forum from Canada. No "toolage" noticed here.

I've been happy with my new FXR Backshift jacket so far. I probably should have purchased one size smaller but my fat neck wouldn't fit. I also still have an HJC floater jacket from 15 years ago and newer bib pants that I still wear. Sorel boots have served me well for the past 35 years. My wife has a great jacket and pants by GKS that she loves. My middle son wears Bombardier jacket that looks really thin to me but he says it's warm.

Have fun shopping and make sure to let us know what you end up with.
