Newb introduction: John (Vermont) - Snowmobile Forum: Your #1 Snowmobile Forum

Hi All, This is John (30yr/m). I am new here and to the sport (although I ride once a year). I just got a place on the VAST trail in South Vermont so I am looking to upgrade my life with my very own sled. I will be getting an Arctic Cat b/c there is a dealer by me who does pick-up/drop-off service and all that. Super important to me as I learn the ropes. I need to learn how to care for the sled after riding, breaking in, and after the season so I will be reading alot of posts on this forum - they appear to be very helpful.

Right now I am looking at last years models XF 1100 141 SNO PRO LTD and the F 1100 SNO PRO LTD. I am not sure what to get my wife but will probably get something on the cheaper/slower/comfort side since she wont ride much and I will lend it to my friends sometimes to ride with me.

I will be back with tons of questions and posts and replies.

The F1100 is a proven go machine although the The XF chassis is lighter yet.

I think I am going w/ the F 1100 Sno Pro Limited in black cause I think it looks cooler vs white. I do not have a trailer but live on the VAST (direct trail access). Think its fair to negotiate delivery of the sled in the price (and tip the driver)? I am only a few miles away...
I am trying to avoid getting a trailer for a while.

Good choice, and yes always tip the driver.
