From Canada - 89 Safari Scout
Hi all. Just signed up. This forum conveniently seems very similar to Toyotanation which I am familiar with. Im David, from Canada.
I used to have an old 80's (maybe older, i forget) Motoski II which I had lots of fun with - the crashing and sticking throttle and various breakdowns. After some pretty crappy winters, I stopped tinkering with the sleds. I ended up selling my motoski for $150 bucks.
But I still have my dads sled who he said he doesnt want to deal with anymore and he has no clue whats wrong with it (possibly many things by the looks of it). So I have decided to attempt to restore it.
I wonder if I should make a separate restoration thread for the build. Im going to head out and take some pics of it as it sits. I brushed off all the snow and ice from the sled yesterday to check it out and as I was doing so I caught the sweet scent of snowmobile (either that or stale gas lol). Weve got lots of snow this year which is why I am eager to get it going. It snowed last night so I need to brush the snow off again before I can take pics. Will be back soon.
