Hello, and help

Hi everyone. Great forum. 1st time here.

I have a question about a mikuni carb, and how to take the elbow out, so I can replace it with a 100 degree (I need the space)

Here's a link to 3 pictures. the stock one I have, the bottom of it, and the new cable blend (elbow) I'd like to put in... the only problem is the one that came on the carb Will Not unscrew.. it's like it's welded in there... any harder and I'll snap it... any Ideas? Thank you Very Much.

It looks like it's soldered and not welded. You may be able to heat the pipe with a torch enough to soften the solder to get it out. Solder melts at around 400 degrees C or about 750 degrees F, aluminum melts at 660 c or 1220f, so there's a little leeway.

I suck at using a torch, I either get things too hot or not hot enough! It's an art and easy to melt holes in stuff that's important.

Putting the other pipe in will require more skill and the correct solder. Good luck!
