Sledless guy

JUst looking to get a sled, and now that I started looking, I see that I'm way behind in the snowmobile world.

the last sled i had was 15 years ago and was an old Ski-doo. It was slow and I beat the piss out of it. Just ran it down the fence rows on the farm till my dad got tired of puttinh money into it.

So here are the questions

What is a studed track? Better to get one that's never been studed?

Carbides?

How many hrs should I stay away from in a used sled?

A studded track is just that. It has a series of what they call "picks" in the track for better traction. Their like ice picks that grab. Many use them to ride on ice. I currently don't have any installed, and don't seem the need to have any. I quess it's up to the indivdual and the type of riding you do. Carbides are under the front ski's for steering ability. You can get different types/lenths of carbides. There alot alot of good sleds on the market now. I am a Yamaha fan. I like the dependabilty of my brand.
Good Luck.
