Hello New from Windsor, Ont

Hey guys, I hope to use your site to gather as much info on safety and sled knowledge as possible. I am not sure if this is the right spot to be askin and if it's not I apologize. I just purchased a 1998 Arctic Cat ZR600, I don't know much about sleds as this is my first machine. So my questions are.... is this a good sled? are there any known major probs? what are some of the prep things that have to be done before the start of season? What should I go over before hitting the snow? Thanks guys if you can answer 1 or all of my questions.

Hey there Flip, welcome to the site. I had the same sled, except it was a 2000. Welcome to the site!

Welcome to the forum! Your sled won 1998 Snowmobile of the Year, there is almost nothing to fault with it! Great speed, suspension, handling, etc! Before the season, grease all fittings, check the spark plugs, replace missing parts, change the slides and carbides if necessary, just all regular maintence! Hope this helps and enjoy your season! We have a 2000 version of you sled and love it, I think you'll be very satisfied.

Hey Flip,

I am guessing you are not driving your machine down around Windsor very much? Where do you plan on riding if I may ask, I am from Strathroy, which is just east of London. Our snowmobile club has a HUGE parking lot, and alot of guys from Windsor/Tilbury/etc come up here and park and start riding from our club house.

Last winter was a good yr for riding around here, out almost everyday from the 2nd week of Dec till late Jan. This yr you might just see me and the sled in your lot, hope we get pounded with the fun white stuff!!
