Just got my 1st sled
Well actually I picked up 2 sleds. One is a 2001 600 ZRT with a 900 thundercat motor. The second is a 1998 ZR 500 with a clutch kit (not sure which one). The 900 I'll be riding and the 500 is for my brother. He's 30 and has never ridden on a sled, and is very pumped to ride.
I've ridden mostly in the U.P. of Michigan on rental sleds 440 Z's & 570 Z's. It's been a few years since I've ridden...but can't wait for the snow to start falling. I have a place in Saint Helen, MI where the sleds will be ridden most the time. The sleds came with a trailer, so I wouldn't mind heading back to the U.P. Some of the best trails I've been on.
Is there many Michigan snowmobilers on here?

Yep there are quite a number of Michigan riders here! I am south of Detroit but ride the Gaylord Grayling areas.
Welcome!

Thats a pretty substantial increase in power from your previous rides! Better start working out so you don't get your arms pulled off

Welcome! ZRs are really good sleds to start with, I did the same thing, but once I hoped on a MXZ 800 I couldn't get off! Welcome back to the sport, there are over 325,000 snowmobiles registered each year in Michigan, not counting the trail permits, so there are always a lot of people from michigan on snowmobiling sites

Welcome aboard! Yeah I've seen more MI users than any other. That ZRT/thundercat is a SWEET mod... you're going to be the envy of the trails!

Yeah, Michigan had more snowmobiles registered in 2009 than Alaska, California , Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Maine combined.

Thanks for the welcomes guys/gals. Didn't realize that snowmobiling was so popular in Michigan.
Has anyone ridden in the Saint Helen / Houghton Lake / Higgens Lake area? That's where I'll be doing most my riding. I do hope to trailer them up to the U.P. at least once a year. Nothing like the U.P...great people & trails!
Here is a pic of the sleds...
