Cool Hello to all 35 years sledding new to forum

I just bought a 2001 800xcsp 4000 miles+2002 700 edge x 8000 miles+trailer that is all rebuilt+painted 3500.00 good deal? both are in great shape start on second pull+have 135p.s.i.on all cyl. witch one should I keep? I have a 2001 edge 550 with 300 miles that is showroom cond. so I want to keep that for my girlfriend.I dont have room for both + have read that the 800s have crank problems, the 700 is tighter and newer but should I worry about the miles? It seems to run smoother at idle+has a can ,135psi same as lower mile 800 what to do? I can not run them no snow, or I would know for sure witch one to keep, wait for snow?

Welcome to the forum and nice sleds! I Know compressions are the same, but I'd keep the 01 800 since the mileage is half the 700. They're equal, but for now.

The 800 has it's issues... if you toast a crank, they are very expensive to repair. If the 700 has the VES valves, there's not a huge amount of HP increase from a VES 700 to the non-VES 800.. and the 700 has less crank issues. Other than that, they are both good rides, you won't be dissatisfied with either!

good luck in your decision!

Get rid of the 800, keep the 700, it shall be a good machine.
Neighbor has one, and it can keep up with with his dad's 900.
So, 700 all the way!
