Thumbs up Hello everyone. I'm new here.

Hello from Washington State. Just got into riding sleds. My wife is deaf from North Carolina and she has never ridden a sled so I bought a couple older Ski-doo's so she can learn to ride. I taught her how to ride a motorcycle and we love them. Now we are going to ride some trails and enjoy the winters here.
Nice to be here.
Thank you

Thank you very much

Hey Man,
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll get some pics and then figure out how to post them. I got both sleds and a tilt trailer for 600 bucks so think it's a good deal. Just need to figure out how to load and unload the old tilt trailer haha.
Thanks again

These sleds are 1984 Ski-Doo Formula Plus and 1987 Ski-Doo MX-LT. Got them BOTH with the trailer for $600. I know how to tilt the trailer but getting them both up before the trailer slams down into position is the pits. I think I'll build some ramps and they can double as my Side racks or something.

Do you mean when you try to ride them up the trailor they slide back down? If so get a old track cut in half and rivit it to the trailor "gives more traction" you can also cut a peice of wood the same size to go inbetween the the trailor top and latching peice or just just get some one to hold it up good luck btw the plus is a badass sled will pull wheelies all day long

Season's Greetings.
Does the trailer have ski clamps? On my tilt I have to load one at a time. Clamp the first one then load the second. A ratchet or cinch strap around the front bumper or ski then hooked around the front edge of the trailer will hold the first sled in place too while you load the second. Bit of a pain but it works.
Good on ya for gettin the wife out! The sledz look great for the price!!! Enjoy

tilt trailer.

No my trailer does not have ski clamps...it does have a place to put side racks so I'm going to build side racks and double them as my ramps. How do you keep the trailer from slamming down when you get the sleds driven up on there?

Most manufactured trailers have a more forward balance point so the sled doesn't cause the trailer to slam down. You may just have to experiment and find the farthest point up onto the trailer before it starts to drop. Mark that point with spray paint or something and try to stop your sled each time as close to that spot as possible. You may have to pull the sled forward onto it's resting place by hand after dropping the trailer. It takes some practice to load onto a tilt.
Does the trailer have ski guides or runners to save the deck and make un-loading easier?

It's a 1980 trailer 8'x8' with plywood deck. I'm going to have to do some work on it I guess. Like I said, this is my first and everyone here is so kind and helpful and I appreciate all the replies. I'm in Washington State, 58 years old, wife is 54 and deaf. Have a great Christmas everyone.
