Hello everyone in the forum. I am from Northwest PA and a new rider this year. I am getting a new to me sled this week actually. I am excited to be able to actually do more in the snow beside shovel it. :) The sled I am getting is 2002 Polaris 550 Classic. Nice condition and well maintained by the current owner. I am pleased with the deal I got at this point and he even threw in some extras that he won't be using that he used on this sled. I am looking forward to learning more about snowmobiling and what it takes to keep one in top working order. I usually do most of my repairs on my other vehicles, I just need to learn more on sleds and what the normal things are and how to get the most out of the machine. Normal routine maintenance and when it should be performed. Just a little about myself, I am a married male living in the snowbelt of PA. Have 4 children so I am a little older than most I presume that are now getting into the world of snowmobiles. I own a Motorcycle already and have been riding for over 10 years on that, now it's time to have a winter toy.

Welcome to the forum!

The owner's manual usually has a good maintenance schedule listed. It can help you figure out all the things you need to learn. If you don't have one with the sled, Polaris has them online on their forum. Check here.

Picked up my new to me sled last night. Cannot wait to get more snow this week so I can get out on this nice machine and see what she can do. I couldn't wait until this Saturday when I was originally going to pick it up, plus I didn't want to make a second trip after making payment. Found a trailer from a friend and went and picker her up. So let's get the snow going so it can be enjoyed. Be safe everyone so you can ride again.
