motor melt down

hi i have a polaris indy sport with 440 f/c and i have found that the pto crankseal is leaking under load and causing a lean mixture and you know what that means melt down so i took engine a part and found that the pto side of crank has 2 bad bearings and the mag side looks ok and inside also ok has anyone seen this and could i be lucky to get by and only replace the 2 pto and 1 mag bearing and get by with out pressing the crank apart. if anyone has done this before and has any feedback i would like to hear from you and i thank you all for your time monte

Welcome to the Snow Show. You should have posted this problem in the snowmobile tech section. Maybe SEG will move it. Enjoy the site. Lots of help here.

Better to have the bearings all checked/replaced than to have the ones you didn't crap out andruin the motor....

same thing happened to me on my 440 engine last winter. Replaced it with a complete 488 for cheaper than the rebuild cost.
