I also think that a 144 is a good combination for trail and mtn. powder. Would be fun to do that someday

personally i think that the standard 136 works pretty well here in Southcentral. but if i ordered one it'd be the 144x16, for all the reasons mentinoed above

I like the 136 because it still fits in the back of my pickup. LOL. The longer the better I say for pure mountain riding.

yah kong is good to take you to the top but its justnot the same on the pipe line or under the power lines make it all to easy.. My M7 with the 162 climbs to beet hell but is lo long for blasting up and down thes long cuts unless ther is lots of powder

Longer is Better

I have a Yamaha 700 Tripple with 141" track & a 2003 Verticle Edge 800 with 159" track. The longer 159" track doesn't hold me back on the trails but absolutely kills the shorter tracked machines on the hills. More experienced riders than I with 151's sometimes can't follow me so I like the 159".

For a trail mountain combo 141 to 151 is the sweet spot. You can maneuver on the trails and still be okay on the mountain.
I have a 136 trail one inch track and a 166 mountain 2.4 lug. I can cruise all day on the trail with the 136 but the 166 can't keep up. Its like the 166 is an 18 wheeler on the trail.
On the powder the 166 floats and climbs anywhere. The 136 sled gets to sit and watch. Very awesome track (166) for the steep and deep, but turns like a freight train.

Still I think for most 141 to 151 is best for trail/powder.

I like the 151 personally, but Im more of a mountain rider myself. Seems to be a good all around length.

242x14x6... JK! I have only rode 121 but I have gone from very bald track to 1 inch track and wow, what a difference.

136 with a decent amount of meat on the paddle is about all you need here in Nome. I was riding with my friend on an Edge 500XC and he was on his Renegade 600, and he could easily climb the steepest mountain we have in the near vicinity. You could see his skis leave the ground and not touch down at all until the very top 0__0 It was pretty sick. I could only make it about halfway up and then I'd begin slowing down, so I'd turn around.

144 works from me

I run 144 here in the mountains. Pushed by a 1000cc triple it will get me where ever I want to go and can turn in less than a football field.

I'm happy with 133.5 or 136. I'm forced to ride some trails, and it is easier to manuever through trees with the shorter sled.
