well, if you wanna keep yours. i know a way you could. depending on if YOU think it can be fixed. i did with my 500.

first, you gotta buy it back from the insurance company, if you sold it to them for them to auction off. then, if it's something like the frame is bent, use something to unbend it really good. has to be prefect. fix what needs fixed, have a dealer inspect it, and get it re-insured...

just giving you another option to go. oyu owuld also have to ask your insurance company if you could do this. it worked out good for me, but my sled sat for 2 years before 1.) we finished everything. it took so long because we didnt work on it for like 1 year.

05 King Cat

I'm considering making an offer, but I don't want the insurer to think I'm trying to scam them. The total damage is unknown at this time, but it's definitely pipes, cradle, frame, tunnel, hood, windshield, bellypan, and both fenders. I'm still in mourning even though the insurer is making it right. Hopefully I can get a new one in the next 2 days for the long weekend.Doug

very similiar to mine. the pipe just crunched like paper. the frame was bent, the hood was cracked, which we fixed and now use but it's crooked. yeah, the bumper just shattered. i took the windshield off, before a slid over the grand marqui's hood. it got scratched. to pove the strength of skidoo, it took a hit from a boat-of-a-car, and was running afterward! heh, i kind of liked the idea of the hoods opening sideways.

they really dont care, as long as it's safe at the end. and i must say, my 500 runs better than ever! it was a nice project. we bought it back for a good price, and if we decided not to build it back up, there were plenty of people eye balling it for parts.

we love my sled too, so i think that's why we just built it back up. wasnt too hard. you just gotta figure out how much you wanna spend, and dont stray too far from that. it can get crazy.
