Mountain riding?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to take a vacation out west? Im from the north east and always wanted to try mountain riding. Is there any places to rent good mountain sleds like 700 or 800 size sleds and places to stay with real mountain riding?

All of the snow states have awesome places to come visit. There are many places that cater to new people and offer all the right equipment for an enjoyable trip (including avalanche beacons, probes, shovels, training). Idaho, Utah have great reputations for awesome snow year after year.

Here are some links for you to look at...

Idaho Winter - Snowmobile

Snowmobiling | Utah.com

OSSA - Home

Montana Snowmobile Association

I'm pretty partial to this one...

Snowmobile SnoWest Magazine

Take a look at Snowest.com, there is a lot of info on there regarding sledding in the west... including their top 10 destinations every year...

Do a search on snowmobiling in the BC rockies as there are quite a few hotels that operate new mountain sleds as part of their rental fleets. Revelstoke BC is one of the best places on the planet to ride and hotels and resorts are plentiful.

You can ride the continental divide right up to the 10,000' mark and it's wicked. There are all kinds of place throughout the Rocky Mountians where you can rent and ride in some of the best snow to be found. Red Bluff just outside of Trail BC is a real powderkeg dream and get the best snow I have ever seen. Fernie British Columbia is also fantastic and is ranked right up there too..
