Suspension settings for mountain riding.

What should your suspension be set up at for mountain riding ? Especially to help carving and side hilling in deep soft snow?

And just thinking the other day why is it that skis on mountain sleds are so wide. I mean it makes sense because they help you stay on top of the snow but unless your carving most of the time your skis are in the air anyway.

And when your side hilling or carving dont you want small skis that would cut into the snow easier and make side hilling and carving easier or would they cut in two much and cause you to get stuck to easy. Any Thoughts........

i dont know about everyone else, but i have my suspention set up stiff, ski stance at the most narrow point, and my limiter straps set at a low approach angle. as for the skis, when boondocking or just romping in a meadow the skis touch alot more than you might think. and if you are riding in deep enough powder narrow skis will submarine and you will have a hard time staying on top. also if you are riding in deep enough powder, wider skis are better for sidehilling. just my two cents

Disconnect your front sway bar on one side too. This will help for side hilling because the hi ski can compress easier not forcing you to stay flat on the terrain.

Dang, forgot about that one. You can also take a sawzall and cut both sides, but that is only if you are going to use the sled for mostly powder. With no sway bar, and stiff shocks up front, it will be a handful on the trails.

If your skis don't float you will be stuck all the time! Mad at the world too! If your really going to play in soft deep snow the skis will cut in plenty good enough for carving and side hilling.Trust me,keeping the front on top is a must.
