I feel your pain Mt_Man. I was hoping to find other mountain riders on this site but that has not happened. If you ever make it up here or plan a trip to McCall, ID send me a PM. Never been there but I hear it is great riding in deep snow. Is your area worth a trip someday? My area is not, need to explore some more.

Desent area, just depends on your style of riding i guess. Lots of open play areas, jumps, hill climbs, bowls and such. Nothing really extreme though, just right for me. Thats not to say that you cant find the extreme if thats what your after. Just have to know were to find them. This area has great snow and alot of it, got over 150" at the mountain. So in answer to your question...I would say ya. Lot of people for the valley..portland, salem, and such travel over here. Even guys from Washington and northern Cali..must say something about the area.

Sounds like you don't need to travel. We have too many trees and the open areas are wind packed so we find the best snow in select logging areas. Keeps the coasties away.

Ya i think this area is pretty desent. That sucks you dont have that good of riding up there. Least you are able to ride some close by. I know I used to live out by Portland and it was a good 1.5-2hr drive just to find the snow. How snow you guys get up there???

The ski resorts are about the 200 inch mark but it all came at once and no good overnight storms like we always seem to get and now we are paying for it not knowing any hidden spots. I hope this week we can get farther north to a snow park where nobody I know seems to go with peaks above 7000 feet listed on the map. Every one goes to North Idaho at about the same latitude, so maybe we can score a spot when the weather goes still.
