what an awesome old sled that there jag 340. Sure U can carve with it. You can carve with anything. I started off using my weight to lean the snowmobile in the snow, just one knee on the seat and start leanin. This way it is no prob so fall off as you just fall off to the side. Also, you are young, so don't go fast. Carve at low speeds. And practice falling off. I envy you for having so much snow you can't even go thru it.
Getting stuck with old sleds is nice anyway, pick it up and drive away. With these newer sleds, I can't pick them up anymore. They don't get stuck so easy, but darnit once they get stuck, they are not going anywhere and what can you do about it?

Have fun carvin.

Hey yea you are right... but i perfected carving with that JAG.. it was so light to toss around and not a big deal if it got stuck. but one day out in the powder she tuttered out on me and died.. blew the engine. broke a piston ring on the clutch side.. it was a sad day.. sold it a few weeks ago. And my new snowmobile has been nothing but a lemon since i got it lol... hoping to get a Yamaha Phazer Mountain lite 4 stroke.

4strokes are slouches tho... At least get turbo.
And if u get 4stroke, remove the silencer for a bad(rules) sound! Chopper style! And maybe a seized engine!

lol yea... only reason im going 4-stroke is the ethanol problem..... 10 % this year.... 20% next season.. 2-strokes are gonna pop left and right.

ethanol causes the engine to burn hotter and leaner. causing lack of lubricantion, overheating, melting pistons, and other BAD THINGS

Well, if its gonna kill engines, I don't think they would have done it... Maybe it is to pressure ppl to go 4stroke?

possibly... i think they are doing it to decrease dependency on fossil fuels. but yea, i think they are going to outlaw 2 strokes in the next 5 to 10 years.

As the ethanol lever is raised, increase main jet size to compensate.

So if they lower/increase or whatever htey are gpna do teh ethanol level, ppl need to increase jetting and increase fuel consumption to compensate? Ain't that against the purpose?
I'll change engines when a better one gets here.
It's like outlawing teh ak47, what are ya gonna change to?
