Wyoming Trip

Well I have oficially been bitten by mountain riding!! I just came back from a week of riding in the most unbelievably fluffy powder I have ever experienced!! At times I almost thought I was riding a jetski... It snowed over 4 feet of powder while we were there!!! We were in the Medicine Bow Range by Centennial Wyoming!

I rode a 2005 Yamaha Vector Mountain! For all those who are wondering about how these heavy beasts perform in the mountains... I am 220lbs. and I was able to climb almost anything I wanted to!! I didnt attempt to climb "Widow Maker"... In the powder, it handled like a dream!! just floated and I had no problem tossing it around!!

We took my Hummer SUT with a 4-place trailer and 4 yamahas (a 2000 Mountain Max, 2 - 2005 Mountain Vipers, a Mountain Vector)!! We Started in Alton Iowa and took Hwy 60 to I-29. Then we headed to Omaha where we got on I-80 all the way to Laramie, WY!! Then we took Hwy 130 out of Laramie to Centennial and stayed at "THE OLD CORRAL HOTEL & STEAKHOUSE"!! Its about a 7-8 mile ride to the parking lot to unload the sleds from Centennial!

That is awesome out there!! I have snowmobiled in the exact same place twice before. I have a friend that lives in CO that goes up there atleast every other weekend. The widow maker is INSANE! It doesn't look very steep in the pictures but trust me it is! My friend wrecked his sled on the widowmaker (See video link below). He was crossing the cornice and got buck to the side and tried to ride it down. Long story short, he ended up sliding down on his a$$, while the sled got on some rocks. He had to climb to the top and push his sled down....As far as places to stay, there are a bunch of ride-in cabins that sleep 4-8 people that are cheap as hell!

Actually he didn't.... He had to take it in the shorts. After he bought a replacement, it was the first thing that he did!
