upgrade to a Boss seat?

I have a 2002 AC Mountain Cat with EFI that I bought from my brother this past summer. This winter we will be making at least three trips to Wyoming for mountain riding. He made some mods to it, namely skis, some clutch work and pipes. I would like to further reduce the weight of the sled as that, at the moment, seems to be the limiting factor in the power to weight and flotation equation.

I was thinking of swaping the original seat for a Boss seat? anyone know the weight savings? Any other weight savings ideas?

I am 6'2" and weigh 180 lbs; so not looking to lose body weight.

Thanks
Jay

They are bery expensave for what they are, however they are bery nice and very light and give the sled a look of attitude. I believe you can get seats from them that are about 4-5 LBS now the stock seat is like 20-30 Lbs so thats a pretty good weight loss. Other weight losses are ditch the antifreeze coolers. a light weight brake discs, carbenfiber suspension components, removal of guages windshields or all togather the hood and replace with a cloth hood. replace track with a different tapered track, performance lightweight single pipe, remove any unused or needed brackets, replace steel parts for aluminum and carbinfiber. They is so much more. good luck

Well AWakely i'm not sure if they make one for your age of sled you'd have to look on there web site but I would dought it, even if they did i'm not sure if the $500 plus shipping is really worth it for you. Good luck

Im not sure the exact weight savings, I think its between 10-15lbs. The height is the best part of the seat. Your knees arent bent as much while riding which makes standing up way easier. After a day of hard mountain riding your legs will thank you. The cost per lost pound is as about as good as it gets.
