What would you do?

Have an opportunity to buy a new--straight out of the box 04 700 RMK 151. It this sled a "technological dinosaur" or will it stand up to today's competition?

Still pretty much very up-to-date. What are you paying for it? Is that comparable to today's prices for a new one?

A sustantial discount over the prices of a 06 or 07 machine. I'm very tempted.

The IQ suspension is upgraded every year with little improvements. IQ suspension is arguable one of the beat suspensions out there for the mountains.

The 07 Dragon 700 is being praised as the best out there. BUT I think that is a self serving prophecy to justify buying a 07 Dragon new for $10,000.

Most people are realizing a 600 to 700 cc sled is pretty good out the box unless you spend dollars in upgrades.

If you mean competition by racing .. etc. The new new thing will beat out the old stuff given the same conditions.

The most important factor separating the new technology from the old technology is operator use and experience.

Do you have the experience and expertise to realise the extra benefit fron a change in skis, spindle design, a new type of track and so on?

As for myself ... I know the difference on paper but in real world applications the price for the new new thing is out of reach. I bought a near new Polaris RMK for more than 40% of retail. The sled was a year old when I bought it.

I am taking the added savings on the sled and using the money to fund more sled trips.

And as for price if you can get a new sled for cheeper even better. I have boughten a few carie overs and these have saved me big $$$. Good find buy it if you dont PM me and i'll come pick it up. Good luck

If you are a bit strapped for cash this year and you are looking for something decent to run,buy it. You can always get rid of it next year for a leftover. The Edge chassis I thought was one of the better mountain chassis' for the time Polaris made them. The new ones I'm sure are nice, but Polaris has been having some issues the last 2 years getting things straight[mainly the 900 was a problem]I'd wait another year and see what Polaris did for this year. All the magazines seem to say they have things figured out again.
