I think the 700 RMK would be a nice sled.

The reason I ask altitude is the intake system. Carburator is simpler but needs to be modified at various elevations to keep the fuel/air mixture correct.

A EFI . electornic fuel injected cpompensate for it automatically.

EFI costs more the carburators.

I was in Cabri Sask. hunting birds this fall. What a cool place, we see some sandhill cranes in Washinton, but over there they are all over the place. Thank you all for allowing us to visit and hunt in your country.

The sled you are intersted in is a good sled but needs deep snow and some hills. If you are going to stay in the flat feilds I was looking at in the area I was in, it might be a little over kill if there is a big price range between a 500 and a 700. Mountain sleds are not built for speed, but made for float and to throw snow with the longer lugs. Longer tracks with longer lugs can slow sleds down out of the gate on hard pack. 500-600cc with a track under a 136 and 1 inch lugs, you would scream on the flat with hard pack

If you're looking for a sled that is good on trails yet good enough for deep snow then you should look at getting a crossover sled like the Polaris Switchback

My buddies have the SKS and the RMK. The SKS is a better all around sled for trail and mountain riding where as the RMK is more fo the deeper snow.
