97 580 zr in the moutians?

i live 7 or 8 hours from banff, and me a couple buddies where plannin on going up there for a sled trip, but i was wondering how my sled would hold up in the moutntians, i got like 1 and half paddles on my track i think, for soem reason ic ant rember the length right now, but what im wonderign would i be allright, or should i just stick to the river?

If you have the 121in track, you might have trouble in the real deep snow. Stay in your buddies tracks and you should be ok.

I agree the 580 might have a hard time turning those paddles in the deep stuff..

If you are riding the 580 in the powder, BRING A SHOVEL, you will need it. Trust me If the snow sets up hard, they will go fine, even on the hills, although the ZR's are not meant for sidehilling; the engine sits lower and they are very hard to pull over. The lower center of gravity helps in the corners on the trail but makes them harder to sidehill...

When I have ridden my 580 in the deeper snow, as long as I kept going, it was ok; but if you stop, you can't get going again. The 121 with 1" paddles really trenches nice, though

thats so true. when i had my 95 ZR 580. it was greatt but its a pretty heavy sled for getting stuck. when i would carve it would be great. but try not to slow down all that much.
