Whats up with Polaris
Iam a die hard Polaris fan but correct me if I'am wrong are they not making an 800 or 900 for 07?In another thread on this site some guys are in aww about the 07 600 what will you do with this sled sit at the bottom of the hill and watch with the rest of the women.Sure the 900 had some problems but do some research and fix it they are a good sled.Iam not sure what Polaris is up to for 07 but it doesnt look good. The new ski-d00 800 has over 150 hp in a 450 lb chassis lose the can and your even lighter talk about doing your home work. Had a chance to pull a few hills with the 07 proto type with a few mods it will be the sled to beat. What's up Polaris????Are ya gonna let Ski-doo spank ya!!

Every thing is ski-doo's daddy
Not all things are good on the ski-doo. I hate the fact no coolent runs through the running boards and all the other brands are doing the same thing. Instead of relaxing and having fun with friends durring a break, I am chipping ice. But I cannot believe how the rev style turned me from a poor rider to an average rider on the mountains of N. Idaho!

They still have the 900. They just put it back on the drawing board so that they can fix the issues that they had with it. I'm sure that in a year or two, they'll put it back on the market. Look at the XLT motor. That had it problems when they went to a bigger displacement, but they fixed it. I think that 700cc's is plenty of power to climb hills/mountains. You have to remember to include the rider of the sled. That's what makes the sled climb. Heck, if my 600 Triumph were set up for mountains, I would definately try climbin. I don't think I would have a problem

YA but just remember, a polaris 700 is as fast as a arctic cat laydown 600. Thats why many people will take the M7. It has just as much power as the big 900's and 1000's!

they have scraped the 900 for sure
and everyone is sure that they will not bring it back
it just had to many problems
they would shake the crap out of themselves and the shaking would cause something to go wrong with the clutch
This is just a guess but I think theyre gonna go with a hole knew 1000 motor cuz they cant just run the 600

I bought a test sled ( 05 900 RMK 166 ANN) from an engineer at Polaris. It has many upgrades for the 900cc for the next year model. He sold me the sled cause Polaris gave him a couple more prototypes to test . He said one was a touring sled and another RMK 900. This engineer goes out and rides them and does modifications for next years model. He indicated to me (with allot of pride and emotion) the 900 will be back in a very strong way. Polaris needs big block engines. Right now it is my understanding they are pushing the 700 DRAGON. Polaris has competition and must have comparible size/power sleds to the competition. I am sure they will have a 900cc sled with lots of modifications ti fix the problems with the 05 /05 belt misalignments

Polaris dosent have a 900 this year. They also went back to the stand up 700, they droped the laydown 750 that they had previosly clamied as a 700. This year the 700 has 140 hp. Thats only about 10 less then last years 900 and 3 more then the older carbed 800s with ves.

the 900 has been scrapped for sure, as has the 800.
way too many problems with these motors.
the new skidoo 800 makes more hp than the polaris 900 did.

Even though polaris dosent have a 800 or 900 their 700 is kick ass. They put four sleds against each other and three riders jusged them all. the sleds were a 700 dragon, rev summit 800 highmark x-rs, yamaha apex se, and a m8. the cat got the best mark average at 51.5. second is yea the 700 dragon with a score of 51.16. out of four sleds, three with 10 hp more, and 100cc the polaris still got the second best score.

I can't believe no-ones challenged this.
I'll agree the 900 was crap. So was the 580s and they came back from it.
Cat's website lists the 600 at 118hp.
Polaris 600 is at 120hp. The CFI at 125. And the 700 at 140.
And you wanna put a M7 up against a Summit1000? An M7 does NOT have just as much power.
I'm not a cat-hater by any means but I'd like to see where your specs are coming from?

I bought a 900 RMK under a 1000 miles for mid 4000. It has all the updates plus it was issued to an engineer at Polaris. The sled was shipped to me from Polaris. They modified this sled to stop overheating, belt and any other problem they could find. So how much does a similar sled of another brand cost? $6000 ? I figuire I got a good deal.

900 Rmk 151
Well I love the feel of this machine, expecally in the powder. I have been on rev's but like the IQ way better. Although I have not taken it out with out having bring it back to the shop. Way to many problems but I am working them out and it is getting better. I was just wondering if you know what they did to the cooling system to help the over heating? Thank you
