Looking for snow!
My uncle and I are thinking hard about taking a weekend trip.
Any where is northern Wisconsin or the UP with good snow and ride able trail conditions?
Looking to go sometime this month.
Thanks guys!

A few friends have been to Hurley, WI and rode that and MI. I pretty much just figured next year so I am not sweating it.

all of wi is done after this warm weather. Need about 6" and north of hwy 8 will be good. As of right now, anywhere north of m28 in the up is ridable. Best bet is probably Ishpeming (stay out of marquette). The Super 8 there has open rooms if you'd like (~100 a night). Otherwise you're gonna have to book out a few weeks.

Do you have a specific area or town that's good to stay in?

When do you want to go? Sooner or later? Most towns are booked out at least two weeks. Should be better snow by then too.

Anyway... We've been to the Michigamme area, and Munising. Next on our list is Baraga/L'anse to do the Keweenaw loop to copper harbor and an Ontonagon loop.
Munising/Wetmore is a very popular one as you can do the Grand Marais/Pine Stump loop and you can also get over to Marquette area.
Munising area is also a bit more populated. Once you get out of Marquette (excluding Ish and Neg) you are pretty much in BF Nowhere. We got on a trail over there that said 52 miles before the next trail intersection and didn't cross a single plowed road in that time.
Oh yea, And to get up there it's likely you'll be going right past my house at about the 1/2 way point.

What about Iron Mountain? Is it worth looking into?

Iron mountain area is thin, it's too far from the pond to get any lake effect, if I was gonna hit da UP I'd try hougton or keweenaw counties. watching channel 6 out of marquette right now looks like some lake effect snow coming for them this weekend, nothing big but a few inches.

Iron mountain is WAY off. Need to stay north of M-28 (or it's equivalent). Iron mountain has very little snow right now.
I'll be riding out of Mass City on saturday.

Watersmeet is good. I'm going on the weekend of the 18th. Staying at the casino again. Maybe thin right there but anywhere you go north to houghton is just fine. I was there last weekend and temps have been good with what looks like 2-3" more this weekend to keep it fresh. If you guys want to join.

We were thinking the Houghton area, looks like there going to get 8" of snow this weekend.
BUT, The fuel pump just went out on my uncle's truck. So we're not going, maybe next year.
