Going to be a great base if it cools down... Glad the roads melted off some.

We're off to a rocky start once again. For the most part the few inches we had is gone.

Hoping for good things this weekend, but looks like mostly rain/sleet so far.

So are trails around the cities good to go yet? Around Eagan and Hastings? The DNR website doesn't show much yet. Thanks, I'll be up in Superior Christmas weekend but plan to be in the Cities that next week.

Looks like there might be a snow storm mid-week. I'd like to ride the local trails for the first time in 2 years if we can get some snow.

I've been watching the weather religiously for the cities area. I don't see anything forecasted in regards to measurable snow next week

No major snow expected. I went out Thursday and the trails were good. Friday and Sat... The trails are mainly mud.

HEy guys, Im supposed to be going on a trip to wherever the snow is two days after christmas...not looking so good! The twin cities got dumped on a couple weeks ago, my buddy in Forest lake had 18 inches...but typical minnesota the rain came, pissed all over it and made the snow just crap. My hopes were to ride Ely, GRand Marais, Hurley...wherever the snow was next week and now it looks as if the trip may be cancelled due to no snow...anywhere! Anybody know of ANYTHING ridable?

I woke up to a blizzard. Suppose to be around a foot of snow in the end, but it will be impossible to measure with the 35 mph winds.

Hey I will definately check that out. I see your from Rochester, I have a sister who lives in Rochester, how far away is houston county from there? is it an option to stay in Roch and drive or ride there? or not so much? also did you guys have anything for a base beforehand? or is it going to take a week of prep and grooming to get this recent snowfall to be enjoyable snowmobiling? thanks for the input man!

Houston co. is next door to me, it's about an hour car ride from roch, and maybe a couple inches of snow prior to this storm.

From Rochester to Cladonia is about 1.5hr. so ya you could drive it no problem..done it many a time..or there is a nice motel there--even has a pool (if your in need of).
Trail goes past it
You said after Xmas --right ?? I'll bet trails will be grooming this time tomorrow they do get on them pretty quick .
Give them a call ,from what I heard they were getting maybe 14-16 of snow.should be just right for a good time--like I said go find Little Miami you'll have a hoot. Or go to Rushford (thats to the north from Calidonia )..hope you like big hills (i do mean big).
Wish I could go ;;but headin to Wis. for Xmas HO>>HO>>HO>> HAPPY TRAILS !!!

Cruzr you could probably take off from Roch.but I know the farther south ya go the more snow there is..besides by wensday of next week I;ll bet trails right around city will be pounded to dirt knowing how it goes just outside of town.
My advice...GO SOUTH>>YOUNG >>>MAN>> GO SOUTH... Happy Trails ..
