Exclamation New York snowmobiling

Need some info on taking my sled to New York to snowmobile. The one page I visted was confusing, saying I had to register my sled in New York??? Well, it's akready registered in Ohio????? Please help.

dont you just have to buy a trail permit for that state which you are riding?

my name IS close to yours, LOL

Well, I wondered about whether I had to just get a trail permit or what, so, do I just contact the BMV there in NY for that?

In new york u must have your sled registered by the dmv and have it insured. There are no trail permits in NY

i think when we went last year, we got like a temp. sticker we filled out at a gas station at the start of a trail. maybe we got the registration in the mail then... dunno.

I got a sticker at a gas station once and down the road the dnr gave me a $156.30 ticket for not havin the proper state permit...Find out by goin to the dnr website for that state. They wont give unverified advice BUT will take your money...lol

Here is the website: www.nysdmv.com The regular registration form is MV-82SN. The one you will need is right in that area of forms with instructions. You are required to have a NY registration. The web site will explain. Good luck and enjoy NY. OB

in new york u need to go through dmv i think they will give u a tempary registarion and u have to have it with when u get stoped by nys dec there arnt any trail permits in new york they are open to anybody.

shepy04, are you associated with John Deere? I caught your catch phrase. My first sled ever was a late 70's or early 80's Trailfire 340 (Silver with the red, orange, lellow, green stripes). Man, that was a lot of years ago! Later, OB
