When I first heard about this on the local radio, I thought it was a joke. I actually had to fire up the computer and look it up on weather.com before I would believe it.

Nope. Now they are saying its going to be a mix of rain, sleet and snow and they we are only going to get 1-3".
The storm went farther south than they thought it would and now its going to go through northern Illinois. With the warmer temps, its supposed to be more rain than snow.

Yeah, it was just enough snow to get out the snowblower 1 last time. Its all pretty much melting now though. It was 35 degrees today with bright sunshine, so the snow is fading fast.
Im looking foreward to the snow melting so that I can start getting my mountain bike out again and get back into shape and so that I can start getting things done outside.
I live on the south side of Lake Koshkonong and I expect the ice to break up before long. It was looking pretty dark earlier this afternoon, which is a sign that ice breakup is getting close. Plus, Ive noticed that a few ducks and geese returned to the area yesterday. If they have returned, warm weather should be far behind.

Last time I went to Wisc. a week or two ago I stayed off the ice. The trailers and ice fishermen were off so I figured it wasn't safe.

I wouldnt trust the ice. Had it been a month ago I might have said you'd be OK (we had over 14" of ice), but with the rain and warm temps I wouldnt risk it.
