Niles and Edwardsburg riding melting today

Rode Wednesday and Friday to pretty decent conditions, 160 miles on Wednesday! We saw a lot of sleds Friday night, and a lot of people doing the high speed runs down the long straight before Sumnerville coming from the south in Edwardsburg. We started at Lunkers, rode up to OTI, and then Indian Lake and back, did a little riding with some younger guys and one of their girlfriends, they got lost with the new loop signs, and had to have us lead them up to Sumnerville. The kid passed us back and forth when we met, found out he was jumping his XC600 off some rises coming off the the woods area north of US12 east of Edwardsburg. he stopped to apologize for passing us back and forth so much, but it was fine as he was riding fairly sanely around us. They dropped off the one girlfriend, rode back to Niles, fueled up and met up at Indian Lake Pub again. Lost them in the night, as we won't ride that fast in the dark, still nearly hit a deer at 35 mph. Then my wife took the lead, missed the trail and headed down some side road, couldn't get her attention, ended up grinding the carbides down nicely down Barron Lake Road, and back down Terminal Road till we picked up the trail again. My gas gauge float was stuck at 1/4 tank, ran out and had to tow back the last 3 miles. There was enough gas to get up the ramp of the trailer as I shut it down right away when it first started cutting out, so we didn't have to drag it up the trailer! I didn't push the issue with my wife about her detour making me run out of gas, as you married guys will attest to the fact nothing good would have come out of that conversation. Snowmobiling is always an adventure All in all a nice ride, only 67 miles though, but it was enough after Wednesday's long ride!
