2nd Trip to Newberry!! Feb23-Mar2

We were a little worried, holding our breath as there wasn't much snow traveling through Gaylord,Indian River area .Even along US 2 not much snow! Those warm days took their toll on the snow up there .Going north towards Newberry from US 2 the snow was increasing steadily.14 miles North of town ...They had 2-3 feet. Now we could exhale!!!
We put on 800 miles. The trail 9 Pine Stump loop was in great shape. All the way to town was great till the last 200 yards before trail 45.Pretty snirty in that area.45 was good till 1 1/2 mile section they are logging .We rode through Paradise,White fish point,Taqu falls, Grand Marais, and Seney. The trails were pretty good during the week. Snirty in some spots.
Had the clutch side jack shaft bearing go out on my F7(fixed).The PTO bearing(not fixed) went out on the ZL 800 along with a rear suspension bolt sheared off (fixed).
We waited for a storm all week long. It came alright. The day we were supposed to go home. They closed the Mackinac Bridge Thursday night due to high winds.Had to come up with plan B to leave.
When we woke up on Friday to a foot of snow on the ground......it was like Christmas morning.Had to go for a little ride.Couldn't waist all that good powder could we?? We plowed through the powder down to Timber Charlie's.When we heard the bridge was open we headed back to the cabin to load up and go home.I almost shead a tear ,driving down the road, leaving ALL THAT POWDER. What a bummer. But we had an absolute blast on this trip dispite all the break downs!!
Oh and I can't forget . 3 hrs into our ride home, we blew a water pump. What fun changing THAT in a blizzard!!!I'll post some pics.

Yea i was feeling the same way we left last friday to go up to munising for the MSA groomer meeting there and we had just gotten hit in gaylord so it was hard leaveing but when we got to munising i was trying to get out of the truck as fast as possible! Great riding there from Munising to christmas, grand maris, newberry, even curtis.Newberry has some of the nicest groomers in the up two with two giant New Hollands they had one up at the show in munising while we were there.

We were at Timber Charlies while they loaded that thing on the truck. They are sweet groomers.
