Hey all- My wife and I will be staying at McGuire's Resort Saturday and Sunday. They are calling for more snow and are under an advisory. Hopefully it will not change to freezing rain today. The trails have been groomed, but there are some patchy brown spots in the woods, so hoping for a little fresh snow to put on the base there. Does anyone know where the armory is located, and how to ride there from McGuires on the trails, and also what trails to take to get to the Boon Store? Evidentally the races have been moved to the Boon Store, as the ice is not safe enough yet. We have not snowmobiled the Cadillac area, but there is a cabin full from American Axle going up there, and I can call one of them if no one on here knows.

Take Trail 6 to Trail 37 North and it will be 7 miles from that intersection. When you come to the fork in the trail near Boon, go to the right and it will be about one mile to the store / staging area.

North American Snowmobile Festival in Cadillac for 2008 is 1/31-2/3 '08 The weather shows snow instead of rain today, so if it stays cool enough tomorrow, might not lose too much of the base. Is anyone going this year? I am going to check and see if McGuire's is going to be $79.00/night again this year, if they're not full already! Once agin it looks like a shoestring budget, I have to run up to Kalamazoo tomorrow and give the middle son money for rent and buy him some more textbooks at WMU.
