Garage floor Question
Have always got a bunch of sleds in my Brother-in-law's garage and they all are studded. It tearin' up the cocrete pretty bad and I was wondering if anyone has found something to put down. Most of the garage floor protection stuff I've seen on the net won't hold up.All too thin.I need a piece around 7'X10' to go in front of the door.we take off from inside the garage because he's got a gravel drive and those sleds are hard as h(uno) to push when it gets past the garage floor.
Any suggestions gang?
Thanks,
ken

How about a couple of sheets of 1/2" plywood? What ever you put down is going to get chewed up over time, plywood is cheap and replacable... just a thought!

Appreciate the idea.Had thought of that but was worried the sled would shoot the plywood to the rear of the garage
Wanted to sink anchors into the floor so the plywood would be secure, but brother-in-law didn't like that idea because he thinks drilling woud weaken and eventually crack the concrete whwn something heavy was on it.I was thinking of some kind of thick rubber that would naturally adhere to the floor but haven't seen anything that was resonably priced.some of the stuff I've seen is so pricey,it'd be cheaper to replace the concrete. Not easier,eh?

What if you had a rubber mat under the wood to keep it from sliding? Kind of like a big router pad? Another thought is using conveyer belting, it's a thick rubber that you could lay out... the skis would not go on it, just the center track... you could roll it up and sit it in the corner when not in use...

grab some old tracks and lay them flat. Good for trailer traction mats too. I even have a piece that I lay on the ground before the trailer so that I can have traction all the way onto the bed.
