just so everyone knows what hes talking about heres his sig:
you know what deserves a little more respect? the wrx sti. it has 300 hp, and handles great. same as the new mustang in hp
rally in general needs more respect in the U.S. NASCAR is great but do i wanna see cars turn left or go over jumps and run fast through the woods/snow/ice??? i am a nascar fan, so dont defend, because im not bashing it.
imo, ralley is a european based sport. unfortunately its not big over here. id like to see more of it. however, nascar, and indy are the major races that we watch. tune to speedvision to keep updated on the ralleys
but i do think that he is letting out a lil agression

I think he's actually sort of contradicting himself by comparing the STi to the new mustang.....the STi is WAAAAAYYY out of a mustang GT's league, and yet, he's trying to give it more respect? In my mind, and STi is one of the best bang for the buck cars out there, not to mention that it's just as fast as a corvette straightline, and owns it on a road course
When they start doing rally RACES, as in not timed, actually racing, then I'll start watching...
IMO, watching rallying is like watching NASCAR qualifying (which is boring to me)

ok, the mustang is awesome. but everyone overlooks the sti.go to the auto show; everyone's lookin at the new mustang.. there's no one by the wrx. my step-dad says "what, you like this little box???" he looks at the HP. we go to the mustang... he shuts up about when he learns its the same HP.
it'd be kick ass to see a rally. same with nascar. but with rally they do more than turn left. i understand they do this at obnoxiusly fast speeds. and look at the the cars. how many times to you pull up to the line and say "uh oh. look at that taurus. its gonna blow me away" WHAT A RACE CAR; THE TAURUS!!! i know its not a real taurus. (thats like sayin your poster of the olsen twins are the real things). people say well indy cars arent REAL cars... think about it.
now there's a good rant!

The reason my the new mustang gets so much attention is
1. They sell 150,000 + of them per year
2. The stang has been around for 40 years
3. The huge number of mustang fans because of #2 and the fact that it's on the best hp/dollar cars you can buy
4. The STi is old news, the mustang isn't even out yet
5. Mustang = Sports Car/Muscle, STi = family sedan turned race car

first off the wrx is foreign. and it wont get alot of attention because the new 05 mustang got a face lift. it is completely different than the current models. its the NEW thing for the 05 model year. plus you have to remember about the legacy that ford has with the mustang.
you are right, the wrx is a grocery getter and it is fast. it does have a good motor and it looks good. but remember when you by one car or the other there is a reson why. sure if the hp rateing is the same then ok. i havent looked at either one lately so i dont know. but i do know that you either like the mustang or you dont and alot of ppl do, and thats is why it is getting alot of attention. people who buy the 'stang can obviously get an upgrade with the gt, svt cobra, saleen, or roush. i dont know what is in store for the 05, but i do know that was avail for the other models. and if you want hp go with one of the upgrades like i stated above.
i dont know what the upgrades for the wrx is, but i tip my hat to ford for what they did to the new mustang. i love it, and stand by it 100%, in comparison to the wrx
i guess if you like a turbo, intercooled, 4 door car, you can always get a wrx
vooooopsssh!! (turbo sound)
hahaha

the mustang is better. i guess you guys just didnt understand what i ws saying. i shoulda said it differently.
the mustang is what we're all proud of right now. its an awesome car. i like it. i also like the wrx. most people i talk to dont see it as a race car. they see a sedan. but once you learn about its performance you look at it differently. i know it wont be as popular as the mustang, due to ford's histroy. (but here's a little known fact... and it is not blasphemy to the car gods, it's true--henry ford received a very high medal from hitler because of the technology he gave them).i just think its popularity would be bigger.
i wasnt doing a direct comparison... just showing what power this grocery getter has.

Stang = 25K
GT = 140K
and maybe where you live the WRX isn't popular, but up here where 4wd is something that's nice to have for 4 months of the year, it competes directly with the mustang gt

whats an extra 115 grand??? jk. you'd think they'd be popular here, because of the road conditions in the winter. not to mention ohio has the worst roads in the u.s.

i just found that for sh_its and giggles...im sure that ohio has bad roads. geeze every state has bad roads. considering the roads, most of which, were built in the 50's-70's, and were not constructed to hold the ammount of traffic that we have, plus they were not designed for the loads that the truckers have now. thats why they are getting re built ...keeping us in the construction industry, in business
yes, have been in ohio, and on your roads. i frequently go to cedar point. i have also taken I 75 from MI to FLA. also my cousins used to live near franklin. i also have relatives in cincinatti (sp)
