Putting mine in the bank so I have it when they want it back next year. For those of you using it, please try to use it on American made products if possible. Not going to stimulate anything but China if not...thanks

Vacation in the outer banks, NC. One question.... Is this going to be considered as income when you file next year??? If so, the $2,100 is really only $1,200.

From IRS Web Site
Economic Stimulus Payment FAQs: Other Questions

Q. Is my stimulus payment taxable?

A. No. You will not owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 federal income tax return. But you should keep a copy of the IRS letter you receive later this year listing the amount of your payment.

So if i'm guessing correctly, it is money given out by your federal government to "stimulate" the economy. Nice!

Saving mine!!! This hole idea is a joke. I mean honestly where is the government getting this extra money really, To all of the sudden send every family in the US a check for at least $600 we're talking Billions and Billions of dollars here. Doesn't anybody feel like they have been robbed. Our government has been complaining about budget cuts and underfunded special needs programs etc. And steadily raising taxes for years so where the hell is all this money coming from?
I think our new Governer of New York said it best about a school tax rebate program we have here (Star Rebate). He is planning to do away with the program. His analogy, If I was to take $200 from you every year and then give you $5 back should you be happy?

I'm going July 20 to 26 in Nags Head. A place right on the ocean. 3 families are splitting it. It's going to be GREAT. This is the 3rd time I've been there. The first 2 I stayed in a hotel and I loved it so much I decided to do the house rental. How about you? When are you going?
