here's a map of the island and where we hiked...

the first is an overall map of the island. from copper harbor we arrived in rock harbor.

the second is a blown up map of the rock harbor area

Monday we hiked from rock harbor along the lake to three mile, then along the lake to daisy farm

Tuesday we kiked from daisy farm to Mt Ojibway, along the ridge to Mt Franklin, and then to three mile.

Wednesday we did a day hike from three mile to suzys cave and around.

Thursday we hiked from three mile back to rock harbor, then hiked from rock harbor all the way to scovlle point and back.

Friday we rented a boat and drove to rasberry island, hiked rasberry island. then drove the boat to three mile then back to rock harbor.

^ the ranger III, the other ferry which leaves from houghton/hancock has the ability to take 19' or less pleasure boats piggy back.

there were a few pleasure boaters and fisherman on the island. one fisherman had a few lakers in his box. good size too.

since we had to carry our garbage with us, because there are no trash cans, no we didnt have a problem....untill the last night. we accidently left a weeks worth of trash outside our "cabin" and at like 1:00am we hear rustling. we all thought it was one of us messing with our sleeping bags so we started pointing the finger at eachother. then we hear it again. well, i was by the door and i opened it up and shined my flashlight out the door. well there goes a red fox with our garbage bag in this mouth. he went off in the trail and ripped it open. needless to say a 30' long garbage trail was strewn about and we had to pick it up. at the time it wasnt verry funny, but looking back it was hilarious!!!
