I hit a deer tonight......

yep I did. I was comin back from snowmobiling, dark out, just drivin along talkin to my fiance'. Out of the corner of my eye I see a deer's head, and right at that moment I think "oh ****"...... and then I hear bam! on the side of the jeep, and then a really loud bam again, and the jeep and the snomobile trailer go out of control. I regained control of the jeep and trailer, pull over and get out. The trailer took the hit, it looks like the deer just grazed the jeep, but he really slammed the trailer. It also popped the hood on my new snowmobile, but there doesnt seem to be much damage there, he just grazed it there also. But the front guard on the trailer, the gaurd that blocks all the rocks, mud, ****, deer..... I guess in this case..... is all mangled up. I will try and get some pics up tomorrow so you guys can see. We went back to the deer, it was back on the side of the road it came from, laying there dead, an alright size buck, but he was messed up, front legs all mangled up and stuff...... yeah crazy stuff..... I will get the pics up soon.

Good to hear it wasn't TOO wicked - I've seen some pretty bad damage caused by deer contact. Also glad to hear you're safe!!

Yea, screw that. if a deer is stupid enough to get in front of me, it better run its ass off because I'm not going to stop or swerve for it. Especially with a loaded trailer.

its amazing how people will swerve to miss deer but go nuts to buy the safest cars that have the ability to hit brick walls going 70

I'm just happy he didn't get in front of the jeep, or put his head through my door window, then things would have been really bad.
