Gettin' Ready for the Biig One!!

This has been too much work!!
We're preparing for Jr's graduation party in a couple of weeks & you guys won't believe what needs to get done (according to the Mrs)! She ordered 10yds of rock to be moved into flower beds & other places. She's hauled umpteen hundred bags of mulch..........created flower beds all over......not to mention all of the flowers, shrubs & bushes she bought. I'll be power-washing the all of the siding on the entire house (gimp & all!!). We just had a guy come over with his dozer to regrade our driveway............
But you know what?? It's worth it!! Jr finally finished high-school & we're going to party our @sses off!! Lined up a DJ, getting a 20'X30' party tent, volleyball net, bonfire pit, brewski's for the adults, & ton's of food to go all night!!
All you local Michiganders are invited.....PM me for directions!!

PS - It would be cool to send Jr some props via PM. Not sure how often he gets on, but he'll eventually see 'em.

looks like you have your hands full irs

when i had my grad party, i had to re-paint the garage, and do misc yard clean ups as well.

the cool thing about re painting the garage was that i got a new finish air nailer out of the deal...not only did i re paint the garage, i added wood paneling (also painted) about 1/2 way up the wall, and added base too. looks much better imo than how it did before. so in that respect it was worth it.

but i hate taping and plastering/sanding. i cussed my brains out fixing cracks in the drywall

It' really unbelievable the way men plan parties vs the way women do it!!

Men would simply plan where do I buy the keg & how will I keep it cold............and maybe buy a few bags of munchies!

Whereas women start by determining the party date only after extensive research with the Farmer's Almanac, the National Weather Service, and the US Hurricane Center. Then it's which rooms need to be painted, get the carpeting cleaned, buy some new furniture, clean the garage, find a catering company, re-sod the yard & plant new bushes, wash the house, pave the driveway, power-wash & stain the deck (that is, if you have a deck...if not, build one!), book the Rolling Stones (if they're not available, get a DJ), rent tents and shelters with seating for 500 just in case the world reads Jr's MySpace invitation, get 16 cords of firewood for the bonfire.......etc. There is no end to the details they think of!!

But after all that, we'll have a party to be remembered for an occasion that comes along only once in Jr's lifetime. It's all good as long as I can find a comfy chair near the beer cooler.

Ahhh! Life is good!!
