that sounds like fun...

i was searching for some of the "local" caches, and some seem like they would be relitively easy to locate.

i think imma go find a few and see what its like.

Geocaching is highly addicting, as evidenced by the numerous people attempting to cross into an active wildland fire that was the location of a cache near here. Some of them were quite irritated that I had to tell them (as the flames were roaring past) that it was probably NOT a good idea for them to go up on that particular hillside at that particular time. I was also pretty amazed at the number of people looking for that particular cache; to me, one would have been an unusual occurance, but there were 6 different people that were looking for that cache on that day.

They are almost as addicted as snowmobilers, I'm thinking.

I was lookin at some caches in my area. Most of them are either on the sled trails, or in my old neighbor hood. I'm gonna have to try it out.

Found 4 today that you needed a 4WD truck to get to. Best of both worlds!

Usually small trinkets, toys, etc. You take something and leave something. Sometimes there's a travelbug, which is a tag with a number on it. You can enter the number online and see where it has traveled. We found one yesterday that started out in Tennessee, has been to Canada, etc. Pretty neat!

You find the coordinates on the geocaching.com website. Go to the left site and click on hide/seek a cache, then put in your zipcode. THat will bring all the ones up around where you live.
