another crazy story

1 was in the basement when all of a sudden the whole house shaked with a big boom..

i thought the a car landed on my porch..

got dressed and got out to see wtf happen..

a city bulldozer was picking up sand on the side of the street and had to make a sharp turn coze my stupid ***** next door neihbor put her garbage can in the street too far from the parking.. so the bull dozer turn too sharped too fast and his loading bucket was lowered to pick up the sand.. so he rammed into the sidewalk and destroyed about 7 - 8 feet of it.. some parts were like 20 feet onto my lawn , close to my house... that thing was big .. oh and his damaged the bucket badly too..

that happened at 10:30 PM.. i ended up with 3 city trucks with flashing strobes everywhere...stopping to see wtf happened..

theyll take about 3 years before they fix it i bet..

why is it always me???

A number of questions - why was the DPW doing routine work like that at 10:30 at night? In the US, there'd be numerous complaints about the noise.

Another question - why were they driving a tracked bulldozer on paved streets? The tracks can tear the hell out of the pavement. Unless they're repaving, they should be using wheeled equipment.

well they have the "nitty" idea of picking up the sand in the streets that was left there when we have snowstorms.. you know, to keep the streets from being slippery.. since salt is now illegal.. so to NOT buy new sand there pickin it up... but it makes one wonder if picking it up is not more costly

the bulldozer is a wheeld one.. i dunno the name in english.. more like a bucket loader maybe ?? the have a that street cleaning machine that like a big vaccumm cleaner with brushes.. when it's full it dumps in the bucket of the loader.. which dumps it in 10 wheeler dumper truck... so this way they dont stop and save time... 2 trucks follow..

they pass at ANY time .. always did, always will.. imagine trying to pass during traffic time when a snow storm dropped 12 inches during the night... we couldn't just drive out of our driveways... well i could cause i drive aggressively and witht he handbrake and 12 inches dont scare me buy the majority of people won't..

so hearing them during the night so often we got to a point where it's normal.. oh and like very few here on this forum we had TONS of snow so..

anyways, they prolly won't fix it till summer of 2009...

i can get one of the street border concrete thats gone but not the loader.. i don t think the driver would have wanted me to take a pic of it

once you put back the lawn theres only the concrete border missing.. it doesn look so bad.. still..

yeah...

even tho they screwed up your yard/lawn, i would have taken pics so if they never came back to fix it, you could have some ammo to fire off at the village/town hall
