new sled
So i,m gonna buy a new sled this fall...what do I get..i,m looking at the Polaris 600sp..the ski doo mxz 600etec..ski doo adrenaline..and yamaha nytro..i want o do mostly trails, good handling..good mileage..comfortable..not spend a ton of money...hope to have around 8 or 9 grand saved so I can pay cash for the sled..not sure on cats in these requirments, so i,m going with what I know..4 stroke? don't really need anything more than a 600 for my type of riding..

cost wise, the polaris indy 600 is about $7k or more and leftover new rush's start about $8k. stick with a 600,polaris 600's are on top there game right now.i can't speak for the other brands, but i have yet to see those kind of prices for there sleds.

I,m very happy with my Polaris 600 now, so i,m leaning towards another one. I like my wifes 600 skidoo gtx, rides good for a two up and the mileage is awesome. Like to do better than the 11 or 12 mpg i,m getting now, especially with gas at 4 bucks a gallon.

Skidoo MXZ or Renegade with the E-tec 600 21 mpg, and the 600 ace gets 29 mpg. The E-tec 600 has a bit more power, but they are both good.

The etec is the way to go. I'm not normally a Ski Doo man, but the etec technology is pretty amazing.

I,m torn between the new Polaris 600 sp and the mxz tnt 600 e tec..Polaris is a whole lot cheaper..take a long time to recover the 2 or 3 thousand dollar difference in gas money

Re: new sled
Arctic Cat has a new direct injection 600 for 2014 that is claimed to run cleaner than an Etec. Msrp should will be around $10,000 on the new ZR6000 El Tigre.

The 6000 is an Arctic Cat motor with what they call c-tec. Apparently Yamaha engineers have helped them get it right, but this is not the Viper. The Viper is an AC chassis with the Yamaha 3 cylinder 4 stroke.

C-Tec. Really? Can't come up with a different name? Same with four wheelers, Polaris has had On-Demand since they started producing a 4wd four wheeler (atv, whatever), and now I think it's Yamaha that calls their system On-Command. The marketing teams really need to think outside the box once in a while.

Gonna be set up for ice fishing. Should be good for it's purpose!
Most snowmobile problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars to the seat.

Re: new sled
Yeah, you're right. Who cares how well the product is engineered or how well it performs? It's the name they give it that counts.
