need help understanding carbides

hello everyone,

i own a 2005 polaris super sport 550 . i am in the process of wanting to order from dennis kirk new carbides but not sure what to get and confused by what they ask... meaning if i go to the polaris web site it shows 3 bars that go under my ski.. a skag another skag and a double pointed piece of metal.. i saw on what parts site it said ez steer..so im wondering if thats what it is.... here is the link to see the parts 39,40,41.. Massachusetts Sea-Doo, Artic Cat, Polaris, Victory & Triumph Motorcycle, Snowmobile & ATV Dealer | Armand's Powersports

but in looking at the carbides on dennis kirk, if i order one thats compatiable with my machine can i remove the pieces i mentioned and bolt this right on? these ones im interested in.. https://www.denniskirk.com/roetin/pe....prd/03458.sku

or do i need to order something different... im very confused about this.. any info is great thank you

The EZ steer is an insert the goes between the skeg and ski to act as a spacer and increase the keel depth which also eliminates darting that is caused by the ski wanting to follow a previous ski track.

Do some homework... the carbide you choose should take into consideration the kind of riding you do, where you ride (ice?) and if you have a studded track. I'm not trying to be difficult... just want you to be aware that there are a lot of variables you need to consider. If you could provide more details, we could better help you...
