Sounds like Hurley and the UP( on the western end anyway) have been getting lake affect. The forecast calls for 2 - 5" more in those areas Thursday night.

I live in Houghton and there is plenty of snow but all of it is powder. If you ride off trail at all the snow is deep enough to come over the hood and play in but your track will get to whatever is under the snow. On the tight trails all the powder makes sharp turns a pita due to the skis floating on the powder and not grabbing.

Re: Hurley, WI
When i was up there last weekend, trails in manitowish and boulder where great. Even trails as south as minaqua were more than rideable. But once you got farther south, like around sugar camp and tomahawk, they got to be a bit patchy by the end on the weekend. But as far as this weekend goes, I'm not sure what it's predicted to be... but i would think the trails up by mercer and presquille shouldn't be bad this weekend, but i am no weather man by any means. Lol
