Fastest production sled???
Hey everyone,
I know that there is a lot of controversy on this topic, but my brother and I we're debating what is the fastest production sled. We were not including mod sleds; just factory, outta the box statistics.
What would you guys say is the fastest from each brand, also what has the record for overall top speed. We are also curious as to what sled up to speed fastest.
I know that there is a lot of things to consider when thinking about such topics, (wind, temperature, hard pack verses soft powder, weight of rider, etc) but we were just curious as to what everyone thought. Thanks!

Arctic Cat F1100 Turbo is probably your fastest out of the box sled.

Arctic Cat F1100 turbo puts out 170+HP out of the box and the Arctic Cat F800 puts out 160hp out of the box, as far as speed? It's hard to say cuz it governed. And also read that ppl can only pull maybe 110mph on a good day with either sled, and also read that Cat has the most HP of any class, how true that is I don't know.

I mean yeah you can watch YouTube videos on it all day and I've seen the F8 & F1100 run and the F8 is rite with it and I've seen a ski-Doo 600 run from it. 4 strokes were never known to be quick off the start much like a 2 stroke is, the power is more drawn out on a 4 stroke but man once that turbo wines out there is no holding that back, that thing is a beast all It's own. I don't really think its all about top speed as much as it is to see who can get to 100 the fastest.

That is correct, my 99 had 152hp. The 05-07 Z's were above 160. Very finicky motors.

Yes, the RX1 is not light. Mine comes in at 560# I believe they put out 145hp +. Not as much as some of the others.
One of our Mods read a mag article where it tested stock at 137mph.....
http://www.snowmobileforum.com/yamah...top-speed.html
Keep in mind, the RX1 last year of production was 2005. Just trying to throw a little love to the RX1 which always seems to get a bad rap.....
Here's a vid supposedly doing 135...
Yamaha rx1 top speed 135mph - YouTube
Check this out, must be stock....

Yeah, I knew there were others with higher HP. I never checked on the numbers for the new Yammis. Since the OP asked about the RX1 I thought I'd run with it a little...
Now if a new Yammi came stock with a turbo opposed to and add on, then they might give AC a run for their money. Tough for any sled to compete with one that comes with a stock turbo.........

Is it?? What numbers do you see? Cuz I asked the dealer when I purchased mine and he told 160. But then Agin it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't know what he was talking about. Just like he told me if I was to put a can/silencer I'd have to change the reed and all that mess, lol
