Need some thougts on painting the indy

i just bought a 88 Indy 400 that needs to be painted, this thing is in awesome shape with only 2200 miles i got it for 300 bucks, its all original and runs like a top, but the hood is white and faded and want to change it up a bit, give some thoughts on what paint or colors for it, Thanks.

I would go with one solid color. If it were me, Ide go with red. And to complement that I would buy red hyfax and red skidplate. And be sure to prime the hood before putting paint on that. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Personally, I like the white, gray, and red color combo that was on that sled in the first place. Since you got such a good deal on the machine, why not consider buying another Wedge hood and painting it? Then, you have the original hood still.

Paint it solid white, and then put on some automotive red pinstripes to your liking.

You could put on the colored slides, but they wear out faster than the solid white ones do.

maybe black on top and a little bit of yellow like stripes and yellow under the sled (the belly pan) oh and you might think of painting the bogey wheels yellow.

I like the red color of my sled. Look at my profile pic. Same chasis as yours so you can see what it will look like.
